Chapter 10:~Candidate for a straightjacket~

Tetsu arrived running and pushed the door open. Everything was calm. As if there were nobody at all in the house. He walked cautiously inside the apartment and soon he caught sight of Hyde lying against the wall, naked, unconscious...

"Sakura... son of a bitch!" Tetsu yelled in unison with Emotional, and he closed the door securing it. He hurried over to Hyde and lifted him. Rational was put on hold.

"Ogawa-san is busy now. He’s having an important meeting with Emotional."

He carried Hyde to the couch, and started slapping him lightly into consciousness, whispering his name, almost as afraid as eager to wake him.

Suddenly Hyde thrust a powerful grip to his throat almost choking him.

"Le...le...let... go... Haido!!" Tetsu gasped with difficulty, grabbing Hyde’s wrists and pulling from them.

Hyde was still unable to focus his eyes from the tough blow he had suffered... but he sure recognized Tetsu’s sweet voice... and let go.

"Sa...Sakura..." Hyde mumbled shaking his head frantically.

"He’s not here, Haido." Tetsu tried to calm him down. He still had no clue about what had happened.

"Damn!!!! Why did you let him go!??" He jumped on his feet, but he was still too weak and fell to the ground making a loud thump, Tetsu was unable to catch him.

Hyde got on his feet again and struggled to the door, still unable to see clearly, he started to scream insanely calling Sakura’s name.

"Sakura is gone, Haido!" Tetsu yelled trying to hold him.

"Noo!!! It can’t be!! Sakura!!! Sakura!!!" Hyde’s bellowing was deep, throaty, full of anger and frustration.

"He raped you again?!!" Tetsu demanded pulling him back, and trying to avoid Hyde’s blind punches to the air.

"No! He didn’t! Take me to him!!"

"I don’t know where he is!"

"Then why are you here, you baka! I’m not half as baka as you think I am!"

"Because he called, and yeah you are a baka, the most baka in the world!!"

"Take me to him, you damned idiot!! Take me to him now!!" Hyde ordered screaming, and forced himself out of Tetsu’s grip, trying to run to the door, he collapsed in the middle of the dining room, tried to crawl to the door, and fainted before he could reach the doorknob.

Tetsu lifted him and carried him back to the couch with big effort.

"Just... just what the hell happened here...?" He wondered in anguish.

Hyde woke up and tried to grab Tetsu’s neck again. "Ohh, no... Not again, you stupid moron!" Tetsu yelled slapping Hyde.

"Let me go to Sakura!!" Hyde pleaded crying... he finally dropped his arms. He had run out of strength.

"You know what, Hideto...? I feel like slapping you into a normal state of mind, and that might take hours and hours of slapping you... so you better calm down and tell me what the fucking hell happened here!!" Tetsu was losing his patience, which was very unlike Tetsu... but Hyde could make anyone lose his patience.

Hyde broke down in tears. He didn’t say a word. He only stayed crying, nesting his head on Tetsu’s stomach.

"For Kami Sama’s sake... Now I know what it feels like to nurse a problematic teenager... just remind me not to have children like you..." Tetsu sighed, examining the multiple bruises on the smaller man’s body. Hyde’s back showed a large, uneven dark bruise and his arms and legs were showing similar scattered marks. The skin on his shoulder blades was scratched, and there was blood under Hyde’s fingernails.

Tetsu began to grow desperate. Emotional had taken over him and settled down entirely. Now he knew he had to protect Hyde. Undoubtedly. No matter at what cost, he had to provide him with whatever the smaller man needed. There was no question about this in his heart or mind. He had to heal him... he had to do anything Emotional dictated, because he couldn’t resist any longer. Because the dam keeping his feelings at bay had been broken, and the tide of emotions had flooded him irreversibly.

Hyde remained crying. His weak, frail and naked body trembling under Tetsu’s embrace.

"I’m cold." Hyde whispered suddenly between sobs.

"I’ll get you a blanket." Tetsu whispered.

"Don’t go."

"I don’t have telekinetic powers yet, so I’ll have to go over to your bedroom and get a blanket..." Tetsu protested nervously. He was about to burst into tears in unison with Hyde.

"Hold me..."

Tetsu sighed and held his head in his hands shaking it. He was desperate. He didn’t know what to do. He had lost his trademark ability to solve conflicts. He took off his coat and put it on Hyde carefully.

"I said hold me..." Hyde mumbled.

"You know...? I’m trying my best here to help you. Have you noticed?"

"Shut up and hold me..."

Tetsu obeyed, shaking his head, trying to keep his own tears under control.

"... Tet-chan..."

"Yes, Haido?" Tetsu answered sweetly, caressing Hyde’s head gently.

"Kill me..."

Sakura rushed out of the building and into the street. His legs were shaking, and he could sense he’d stumble and fall at any time. He walked fast, blindly, disoriented and aimless. He couldn’t believe what he had just lived. His mind was clouded, and he kept bumping into people, walking without any direction, without any conscience of where he was going to. He just knew he had to go away. Far from Hyde, yes, very far. Every time he blinked Hyde’s distorted face flashed before his retinas. His ears could only hear the small man’s yelling... the insane howling and bellowing, the hoarse sound of the voice that a mere hours ago had lured him into that damned bedroom. And he knew he had no right to say a word. He knew it must have been much worse for Hyde when he had raped him months ago. He knew he probably deserved the deranged attack from the one he loved the most. Yet he hadn’t expected it. He hadn’t foreseen the reaction.

Hyde used to be a total brat, but he had never acted like that before... Maybe it was the best... Sakura couldn’t think straight. He bumped into a street notice and raised his eyes to read it.

Coffee shop.

He turned and entered the place automatically. His whole body was shaking, adrenaline still pumping and flooding his veins.

He sat down in a corner and ordered breakfast.

"He’s out of my life..." he thought, and fought the raising eagerness to cry that was dwelling in his throat.

"Forever..." he added watching his trembling hands.

"Ken...?" The voice on the phone asked pleadingly.

"Tetsu...?" Ken asked still half asleep.

"We have a problem..."

"Uh... I got someone pregnant?"

"Don’t be stupid and come to Haido’s place right now!" Tetsu said harshly.

"You are at Haido’s place?!! Oh-ho-ho... the man that said he was totally over him... What are you doing there? You’re ruining their party out of jealousy?"

"No, I’m not doing anything like that. Yes, I’m at Haido’s apartment. Cut the crap and come here right now."

"You sound as demanding as him..."

"Stop playing!! It’s an emergency!!"

"What happened?!" Ken demanded to know noticeably annoyed.

"I can’t tell you over the phone, baka. Come here now!"

"Is Haido OK? Are you OK? Is Sakura OK? Are you having an orgy without me?"

Tetsu put the mouthpiece away from his ear for a couple seconds and watched Haido crying in his sleep. He looked miserable. Then went back to talking.

"Come here. Stop. Now. Stop. End of message."

"OK, gotcha. I’ll be right there, fearless leader." Ken hung up. "Gee... he can get bossy..."

Tetsu caressed Hyde’s hair lightly, and Hyde twisted his face to draw his nose away from a stray strand of hair. "Ken’s coming." Tetsu said softly. If Hyde was calm, he could allow himself to be calm.

"And Sakura...?" Hyde asked painfully.

"No."

"Then I don’t care..."

"OK. I’ll take you to your bed, buddy..."

"I’ll burn that bed." Hyde replied raising the tone of his voice and pushing Tetsu’s hands away.

"Do as you wish. It’s your place, not mine." Tetsu answered at the verge of his patience limit.

"I will burn the whole house!"

"OK, just let me out first. I still have a couple things to do before I meet my ancestors."

"You are so cold, Tet-chan."

"You don’t have the faintest idea what it is like dealing with you, Haido..." Tetsu muttered wearily.

The doorbell rang, and Tetsu walked over to the door. It was Ken, who entered the room rather puzzled.

"What happened, Tet-chan?"

"I’m not sure... I think there was a fight... maybe Sakura did something to Haido... his body is awfully bruised."

"Shit, no! I can’t fucking believe it!" Ken exclaimed throwing his arms into the air.

"Look at him." Tetsu pointed towards the couch where Hyde was curled up under the bassist’s coat.

"Stop talking about me like I’m not here, you baka!" Hyde yelled.

"Looks pissed... and fucked up... I mean more than usual..." Ken commented.

Tetsu gave Ken a meaningful look, and went on. "Help me take him to his room."

"OK, Tet-chan." Ken answered.

Hyde contorted and escaped both men’s grab.

"You touch me and I kill you right here!" He yelled. "I’m not going to that bedroom ever again!"

"Bad sex, Haido?" Ken asked in his usual blunt way.

"Shut up! Ken!" Tetsu urged.

"Great sex... bad... aftermath..." Hyde replied reluctantly.

"I see. What happened after that earth-shattering sex...?" Ken asked.

"I told you not to have sex with Sakura!" Tetsu protested.

"Who the hell are you, my mom?!" Hyde looked at Tetsu furiously. "Who the hell do you think you are to order me not to have sex with someone?! Huh?! You think you are my pimp?! You think you will choose who fucks me and who doesn’t?! You, asshole!!"

"What if we beat him up?" Ken stared at Tetsu making a fist. Hyde was getting to his nerves.

"No fun now. Wait until he recovers..." Tetsu smirked. "Then we beat the shit out of him."

"Abusers..." Hyde replied in a low voice.

"Why the bruises, Haido... rough sex...? You like that...? You should have told me before!" Ken smirked at Tetsu. "Or is it that you really made Tetsu run out of patience?"

"I can take you both anytime, so shut up!" Hyde cried hiding his face in Tetsu’s coat.

"OK. Enough of this. Let’s move him." Tetsu ordered.

"No!!! If you take me to that bedroom I’ll kill you both!!" Hyde warned them.

"And that would be because...?" Ken asked.

"... Because it’s full of Sakura’s scent..." Hyde finally confessed.

"I see." Tetsu nodded. "Well, Ken-chan, take Haido to the bathroom and watch that he takes a warm bath. That’ll do him good. I’ll change the sheets and ventilate the room."

"OK." Ken took Hyde’s small body in his arms and lifted him, carrying him to the bath.

"I can walk, moron!"

"I know. Just thought your ass must be sore..."

"My business, not yours!"

Ken entered the bathroom and sat Hyde on the WC lid, while he opened the faucet of the big bathtub, waiting for steamy hot water to fill it.

"You know what, Haido-kun... your attitude sucks. We came here to help you, because we are concerned about you, and you keep insulting us and behaving like a brat."

"You only care about the band, not about me."

"Wrong, my pretty, stupid and small friend..."

"Even I... if I hadn’t had second thoughts about the band... Sakura would still be here."

"Why do you have to be such a spoiled brat...? I mean, you are a grown up man..."

Hyde sighed and didn’t answer for a while. Then a soft whisper came out from his lips.

"Gomen..."

"Yeah, gomen... gomen..." Ken sighed. "He raped you?"

"No. We fought. I didn’t want to let him go."

"You fought that hard?" Ken asked pointing at the bruises on Hyde’s body as he took the coat from him.

"Yeah."

"You always have to have your whim, right?"

"Absolutely."

"Get in the bath."

Hyde obeyed. Ken watched him silently.

"This is so embarrassing, Ken-chan."

"Oh, finally you notice..."

Hyde took a deep breath as the warm water enveloped his sore body.

"Tet-chan! Towels!" Ken called.

"I’m not your maid, Ken-chan, hold on!" Tetsu yelled from the bedroom.

"You should stick up to Tet-chan..." Ken told Hyde.

"Huh?" Hyde opened his eyes wide.

"I mean, let him take care of you..." Ken answered rapidly.

"Ah... hai... maybe."

"He’s so worried about you."

"I’m so sorry... I always seem to take it out on him... I know he sees me like a little brother... well, even if he’s younger than me... but..."

"Yeah, I know. That’s what I meant, of course. And you better be sorry. We’ll make you pay for this..."

"Yeah, I know you will..."

"You’ll pay like you’ve never paid in your whole visual life..."

"Right. I deserve it."

"Of course you do! Brat!"

Hyde nodded.

Tetsu came from the bedroom carrying two clean large white towels. Hyde raised his head and looked at him.

"Thank you, Tet-chan, Ken-chan."

"No problem." They both answered.

"I owe you..."

"You owe us big..." Ken replied.

"I’ll do stuff for you... I’ll make it up for you..."

"Yeah, well, licking our shoes mirror clean will not be enough." Ken said winking at Tetsu.

"It’s all over..." Hyde murmured as he got out of the tub and wrapped himself in the dry towels.

"I certainly hope so." Tetsu said watching him in concern.

"Yeah, it is..." Hyde mumbled. "He won’t come back."

"Go to sleep, Haido." Tetsu asked him. Hyde nodded and walked towards the bedroom, followed by his two friends; the big towel wrapped around his small body as his only clothing.

Hyde got inside the bed, and Tetsu tucked him in. "Sleep." He commanded.

"Will you be here when I wake up?" Hyde asked.

"I promise." Tetsu replied.

"Me too." Ken answered.

"And what will you do meanwhile?" Hyde asked.

"We’ll watch TV and idle around..." Tetsu replied.

"Anou... You can use my playstation... uh... and there is some food in the refrigerator..."

"OK. Thanks." Tetsu answered smiling.

"And orange juice... wine..."

"Very good. We won’t thirst or starve." Ken tried to reassure him.

"If you need anything... just wake me up..." Hyde said.

"OK, Haido. Now sleep." Tetsu reassured him and tucked him in bed again. He shut the window blinds, and closed the door behind him and Ken. He would have kissed Hyde’s forehead if Ken hadn’t been there. Rational was losing the war miserably. And what wrong could a little peck on the forehead do, anyway? Hyde would surely appreciate it. But Ken... Ken would keep siding with Emotional... and that was no good. Tetsu could not allow Emotional to have allies. And what was worse... Ken would wake up Lustful... and Lustful had always been a bad advisor...

Tetsu looked around the large living room. It would be a long day. And he would baby sit Hyde. Something he was sure Hyde would never do for him. So that was a point for Rational... He couldn’t fall for Hyde. Because Hyde was a guy, because Hyde was his friend, because Hyde would turn him down... because Hyde was going to make him suffer.

And Emotional should rather be reduced and thrown back into the dark cell he had painfully shaped for him. Because Tetsu knew Emotional knew Hyde the best.

Hyde sighed and sunk his head in the pillow. He was alone again. Everything had been but a mirage. He looked around his room. Everything was too familiar. This was the scenery that had surrounded him for months of complete isolation and despair.

"Nobody... nobody can love someone like me..." he thought pressing his face against his pillow.

"And so I end up lonely... and so I end up like this... with nobody to wake up to in the morning, nobody to smile at me... nobody to make me feel loved..." He sobbed and clenched his fist holding the pillow.

"But I deserve it... second chances are not for me. I already have fame and fortune... why would I have a right to ask for love on top of it?" His bitterness caused him to feel an acute pain on his chest.

"But I do want the love... I do... even if I don’t deserve it, I’ll still keep on wanting it... and you, Sakura, you won’t see me cry again... I’ll wait... and next time you won’t be able to escape. You won’t leave me alone again. I’ll find you, or anyone... but I won’t be alone again."

He moaned softly and he cried himself to sleep.
