Chapter 17 ~One Candlelit Dinner... Your eyes caught my heart~

Both men entered a fashionable French restaurant in Tetsu’s neighborhood. The restaurant crew and some customers immediately recognized them, so they bowed to the staff, waved to the other patrons, and waited at the bar for the maître to accommodate them.

"Ne, Tet-chan... You come here often?" Hyde asked while sipping a courtesy glass of iced tea.

"No... I mean, only sometimes I come here. It’s a nice place, don’t you think?"

"Yeah, it’s very nice. I thought you liked Japanese food better than European, though."

"Yeah, I do, but sometimes I like a change."

"Ah... sou ka... I like this place too. Is the food good?"

"Un, it’s very good. I think you’ll like it. And servings are abundant."

"Ah, yatta." Hyde smiled at Tetsu from the rim of his glass.

"Messieurs... Would you prefer smoking section or non."

"Non." Said Hyde, which surprised Tetsu.

"I forgot my cigarettes..." Hyde whispered at Tetsu, who chuckled, and felt happy at the perspective of not having his meal ruined by smoke.

"This way, Messieurs." The waiter accommodated them in a fairly private part of the restaurant, and handed them the menu.

They made their order and had dinner, idly chatting about irrelevant stuff, as the couple of good friends they had always been.

After that, they paid and left the restaurant, then walked back to Tetsu’s home. It was beginning to get colder, a sure sign that winter was already approaching.

But the night was invitingly clear. The air was crisp and it felt nice to breathe it.

Tetsu looked at the neon lights shimmering above them, blinking on and off, endlessly. Thousands of people moving in waves, to and from one place and another. Like an eternal dance, lulled by the street sounds, and having Hyde’s talk for background music.

Tetsu felt happy. It had been a beautiful dinner. He smiled broadly and bounced softly on his platform shoes. He was feeling like a kid... a happy kid. Strolling towards home under the artificial lights of a boiling city.

He looked up at the signs, the many notices invading his eyes and mind with scattered words. Nearly as scattered as the pieces of speech he caught from Hyde.

He had said something about his cat... maybe. Tetsu just smiled, he couldn’t resist it. His hands pushing his pockets down as he walked joyfully.

Hyde tugged from his arm and pointed at a blinking light traffic. They stopped. Tetsu kept looking up, as if he had re-discovered the whole Shibuya.

Notices, billboards, advertising. The faces up there, close to the sky on the computerized screens... His face had been there before. And Hyde’s.

And he could guess stars blinking from the black sky, even if they were invisible, Tetsu knew they were there. Guiding him. Blinking happily for him. Greeting him and winking at him.

"Are you happy, Tet-chan?" They seemed to call out in Hyde’s voice.

Tetsu smiled at the sky and nodded. He was happy indeed.

Hyde babbled endlessly and Tetsu went along with the talk. The weather was weird lately: yes. It’s the global warming: yes. People are crazy sometimes: yes.

He had even started pointless conversation at times: Blood types determine how you get along with others: disagreement. Gundam is the best anime ever: whatever.

But Hyde had continued: Vampires are so cool: yeah, right. That bavarois was exquisite: kinda heavy though. I bet there are vampire-clubs here in Tokyo: Sure... they are called 'Sanitariums'.

Smokers are a pest: drop dead...

They finally reached Tetsu’s apartment.

"Ne... Tet-chan..." Hyde started. "I’m gonna take a pee, uh... if you think I’m being rude or blunt, I apologize..."

"It’s OK, Doiha-chan, go ahead, I’ll take a bath later."

"I can make it up... I can do many things! Like..."

"I have to call Ken-chan." Tetsu interrupted before Hyde began enumerating the multiple crazy things he could do, yet once again.

"Huh? What for?"

"We should practice tomorrow. We haven’t done so in quite some time."

"Oh... you didn’t tell me..."

"That we haven’t practiced? Isn’t it obvious?"

"No, I mean, to go to practice."

"Ah. Well, it’s OK, if you wanna come, it will be better. I thought maybe you wanted to rest a little more."

"Why are you going to practice without me?" Hyde protested.

"Oh, it’s just bass line and guitar... and... Uh... drums..." Tetsu tried to avoid Hyde and walked towards the studio.

"Ah... I see." Hyde said following him as if they were bonded by an invisible thread. "You think I’m not ready yet to face Yukihiro-san. Fine. You are wrong, you know? But have it your way." Hyde replied in an offended tone.

"No, it’s not that. If you wanna come, then it will be better, Haido. Don’t start being a brat again."

"Wakaranai na. Maybe I’ll drop in, by surprise, and check on you. Maybe I won’t. Maybe I might get jealous and suspect you might see someone else, or..."

"OK." Tetsu interrupted and went into the studio to phone Ken. Hyde followed him, unable to decide if he wanted to go practice or not.

"Hmmm.... Moshi, moshi..." The slurry voice answered on the other side.

"Ken-chan?"

"Ah, Tetsu... If it had been Haido again I’d have burnt the fucking phone!"

"Haido is here. You wanna talk to him?"

"Of course not! He’s being impossible!"

"No, actually he’s behaving now."

Hyde snatched the telephone from Tetsu and yelled into it.

"Urusai, Ken-chan! I’m not a brat!" then handed the telephone back to Tetsu who stared at him rather puzzled.

"Listen, Ken. We are practicing tomorrow. 10AM at the studio. You got the keys, right?"

"Hmm... Yeah..." It was 2 AM and Ken was obviously tired and sleepy.

"Well, OK. Meet us there. Yukihiro-san will go too."

"OK."

"Tell him to bring my cat!" Hyde ordered.

"Haido says you bring his cat."

"Oh, the cat ran away." Ken answered yawning.

Tetsu looked at Hyde with concern. "Haido... Ken-chan says your cat ran away..."

"Nani?! Give me that stupid phone!" Hyde took the mouthpiece away from Tetsu and yelled in fury.

"How come my cat ran away, Ken-chan!!!?? What did you do to it??!! You threw it under a bus, like you said before, right??!! I’ll kill you if anything happened to Blue-chan!!!!"

Ken laughed on the other side of the phone.

"Your cat, my friend, got himself a girlfriend, and ran away."

"Uso!"

"It’s true. How about you?"

"Nani yo?!"

"You got yourself a boyfriend and ran away from your home, didn’t you?"

"Of course not, baka!"

"Hahahaha!!! OK. Hopefully Blue-chan will come back tomorrow, a bit bruised and overly happy. I wonder... Will its master be in the same condition?"

"Urusai, baka, baka, baka!" Hyde gave Tetsu the phone and walked out of the studio chuckling. He grabbed his sleeping clothes and went to change into them.

"What did you say to make him so pissed, Ken-chan?" Tetsu asked Ken.

"I told him his cat got himself a girlfriend. Hey, talking about that... he sounds calmer... even when he’s mad... you laid him yet?"

Tetsu was fuming. "Good night, Ken-chan"

"Oh! Come on! Tell me!"

Tetsu hanged up. He chuckled to himself and shook his head.

"Ken-chan no hentai..." Tetsu thought. Right away he dialed Yukihiro’s number, to remind him about the practice.

An hour later, Tetsu and Hyde had already changed into sleeping clothes. Tetsu had blow-dried his hair and done his self-care routine properly while Hyde was playing video games in the dining room.

"Anou... Doiha-chan... it’s kinda late... Why don’t you go to bed already...?" Tetsu asked him casually while watching him with curiosity. The sight of a coffee dish with several crushed cigarette ends beside the smaller man making him twitch.

"Mm..."

"Really... I mean... you can’t stay awake all night... playing games!"

"Mm."

"I’ll do stuff to you..." Tetsu said in a devilish tone.

"Mm?" Hyde looked up. "Hontou...?"

"Yeah... I’ll tickle you until you go to bed." Tetsu suddenly blushed. He hadn’t expected Hyde to pay attention.

"I’m not ticklish."

"You said you were! How can you lie so much!?"

"Hehehehe..." Hyde kept playing.

"Well, I guess I’ll have to find out by myself..." Tetsu said and walked towards Hyde, who held his joystick fiercely watching the screen.

"If you take another step, Tet-chan, I’ll hurl something at you!" Hyde said without taking his eyes from the screen.

"... but since you are not looking, you will miss..."

"I won’t!"

Tetsu jumped towards Hyde and grabbed him by the waist. Hyde tried to struggle to get rid of him but it was useless, since Tetsu had begun tickling his waist.

"Iiyamero!! Tet-chan!! Dame yo!! Dame yo!!"

"Hahaha! So, you are ticklish!"

"Iiya, Stop it already!!!! Lemme go!!!"

Tetsu dragged Hyde away from the playstation. Hyde was bellowing at him to stop, very annoyed.

"At least let me save my file!" Hyde protested, giving in.

"Go ahead, I’m holding you" Tetsu was holding Hyde upside down by his feet.

"I’ll get you for this!!" Hyde rummaged and managed to save his file.

"Oh... hontou? It’ll be fun to wrestle you..."

"Yeah, hope you still say that after I’m finished with you!"

"I know your weak spot! Hahaha!" Tetsu laughed.

"No, you don’t! Awwww!!!!!" Hyde twisted under Tetsu’s tickling, still upside down.

"Lemme go!!! Tet-chan!! DAME!!!"

"If I let go of you now, you’ll hit the floor head on."

Hyde crossed his legs around Tetsu’s neck and pressing a hand against the floor, threw him into the couch, falling to the floor flat on his back as he did this. Hyde turned and laughed self satisfied.

"Ha!! See? I haven’t lost my abilities yet! I rule!!"

Tetsu looked at him partially amused and partially confused.

"Hontou? You think so?" He jumped at him and took Hyde’s right arm, forcing it to his back.

"Attack me now." Tetsu challenged Hyde. "Come on, little Bruce-Lee-wanna-be."

"No! Let me go!!"

"You can’t silly... your left arm is not too strong, ne?" Tetsu laughed.

"Jerk!! Lemme go!!" Hyde protested twisting to free his right arm.

"Hehehehehe... Now you’ll go to bed!"

"I won’t!!!"

"What a brat..."

"I’ll go if you do something nice for me..." Hyde protested. Tetsu pressed him against his body with his left arm.

"Speak." Tetsu ordered.

"Uh... hmmm... kiss me and I’ll go."

"OK." Tetsu turned Hyde and letting his arm go he pushed him against the couch. Hyde plummeted into it and before he could react, Tetsu was all over him, each knee to each side of his body holding Hyde by the shoulders, Tetsu pressed a violent kiss against Hyde’s lips.

Hyde broke the kiss and lowered his sight.

"I said nice..." Hyde said in a low voice. "Like before... when we kissed so sweetly..."

Tetsu smiled at him and took him in his arms. He sat Hyde on his lap, facing him. Hyde’s legs dangling limply at each side of Tetsu’s. He held the small vocalist’s waist, and kissed him sweetly, pecking at every square centimeter of his lips, then, parted his lips to entangle their mouths in a deep soft kiss that lasted several minutes. Tetsu could feel Hyde’s arousal brushing his stomach, and the enticing soft moan the left his mouth after they unlocked their lips.

"Now are you coming to bed?" Tetsu whispered on Hyde’s ear, tickling the sensitive skin that surrounds it with his warm, moist breath. Hyde shivered and kissed his chin gently.

"Yeah... only maybe now, I won’t want to sleep..." Hyde whispered in Tetsu’s ear grinning.

"OK." Tetsu agreed surprising Hyde, who flashed him one of his priceless smiles.

"Good. I’m happy." Hyde kissed Tetsu on his chin again and stared into the bassist’s shimmering eyes. "Take me there, then."
