Chapter 6 ~I’ll forget you~

Tetsu sat at the studio table and opened his notebook, the one he used for agenda. He put on his glasses, took a ballpoint pen and browsing through neat, soft orange pages, he stopped at the last written one. He read it and began correcting and adding notes to it in silence. Ken came closer to him and sat at his side sipping from a cup of coffee.

“Tet-chan... daijobu?”

“Huh? Hai.” Tetsu lifted his eyes briefly and went back to writing.

“Hmm.” Ken nodded. “Did you tell him?”

“...Nani?”

“About your feelings.”

“Uh... no. I didn’t want to burst his bubble. He’s so into Sakura.”

“They both look happy together.” Ken observed, crushing the empty plastic cup of coffee and tossing it into a wastebasket.

“Yeah. That’s good. I’ll forget him, eventually.” Tetsu answered trying to sound casual.

“Was he rude to you?”

“No, Ken-chan. That was the toughest thing.” Tetsu answered closing his notebook and looking into Ken’s eyes. “He was incredibly sweet to me. He... he was so sweet, I’ve never seen him like that.” Tetsu’s eyes showed the burden of pain, noticeable even behind his thick glasses.

“Even the devil can be sweet...” Ken commented nodding.

“He’s not a devil... You know he’s a nice guy.”

“No. Only YOU think he’s a nice guy. Everyone else knows he’s a devil.”

Tetsu tried with effort to chuckle.

“I think even Sakura-kun noticed about my feelings for him...” Tetsu commented.

“Yeah, well... you are so evident sometimes...”

“No, I’m not!”

“You say even Sakura-kun noticed!”

“Yeah, but probably because he’s being jealous around Haido-kun.”

“Ahh... Jealousy. I have the feeling Sakura is a very jealous guy.”

“Hmm.” Tetsu sighed and raised his eyes gazing into the room. Muffled voices came from behind the drum set, soft chuckles that stabbed his heart.

“It’s good that they are both so in love. Even if they are guys. And even if I think you’d make a better boyfriend for Haido-kun...” Ken commented and started to laugh. “Tet-chan... what the hell is wrong with girls!!??”

“Huh?” Tetsu looked at Ken trying to ignore the background echoes.

“Come on, man! Forget the guy, go back to girls!”

“I will.” Tetsu smiled at Ken. “Girls are not going to deliver me a kung fu kick because I disagree with a song line, right?”

“Well, some of them might. But I don’t think there is any girl, or guy for that matter, that matches Haido’s fucked up temper...”

“Yeah. Bad temper. Also maybe there’s no match to his good looks...” Tetsu sighed.

“Well... I can tell you about a couple girls that I know, who really, really come close. I prefer them to any guy no matter how good looking.”

“OK. Let me know if you plan to see them.” Tetsu smiled sweetly.

“I will. I gotta get you out of this depression... and gay ideas...” Ken stood up and after patting on Tetsu’s shoulder he walked away.

Tetsu sighed and lowering his head he resumed writing on his notebook.

“10 AM: Practice.

Finish last two songs. Change bass line in ‘Voice’ chorus. See notes on studio wall.

12 AM: Let the guys go have lunch. ^_^ (I’m such a good boss!)
