Episode 5
The truth

Hyde put out the cigarette end under the faucet and walked towards the main room in the bungalow. He put on his fur coat, scarf, wool cap, earmuffs, gloves and boots and went outside.
"Well... I can't do any more wrong than I already did. I'd better go and tell him the truth about the dog's owner. He'll hate me... he'll insult me... he'll probably dump me... Nothing I can't work out with the right amount of begging, crying and sex..." Hyde sighed and walked a few meters towards the place where Tetsu and the little dog were playing with a rubber ball.
Tetsu looked incredibly happy playing with the little creature. He smiled radiantly, laughed wholeheartedly, ran like a kid, threw himself to the snow and rolled on it with the dog. The pup itself looked very happy to be with Tetsu. Hyde couldn't blame the dog... he knew everyone would be happy to be with Tetsu... by self-experience.
Tetsu suddenly caught sight of Hyde slipping on the snow and falling, then getting up, cursing and walking on. In other circumstances he would have laughed at him and tossed a snowball at his lover. But at that moment, he could only feel the sadness creeping up his body. He was sure the pup's owners had come to pick him up, and Hyde was coming to let him know.
"Ne... Tet-chan..." Hyde called.
"They are here?" Tetsu asked in a grave voice.
"Huh? Who?"
"The dog owners."
"Uh. No. They aren't. But we gotta talk..."
"We can talk later. Right now I want to enjoy my last hours of play with Cutie. So, leave us alone." Tetsu replied and turned towards the dog.
"It's about the dog..." Hyde pleaded.
"Whatever." Tetsu answered distractedly.
"I... I have to tell you the truth... Uh... I didn't make any sketches... I didn't stick anything anywhere..." Hyde began.
"Nani?!" Tetsu opened his eyes wide and looked at him.
"Yeah... well... I lied..." Hyde went on.
"Ah!! Haido!! You are such a mean guy!!" Tetsu screamed beaming in happiness. "But I forgive you, cause that means, I get to keep Cutie-chan!"
"Uh... no... wait... let me finish..." Hyde tried to go on.
"I knew you couldn't be that cruel, Doiha-chan...!" Tetsu smiled and lifted the dog in both his hands smiling.
"Uh... I can. In fact, I am. And I know you will hate me for this... but the truth is... I've found the dog's owner..."
"Nani?" Tetsu's expression changed in a fraction of a second.
"Uh... yeah. I found her by chance. She's a little girl that was crying on a bench and dropped her chocolate on my shoe..."
"Nani?"
"... she dropped her chocolate on my shoe..."
"I heard that, moron. You found the owner?"
"Uh. Possibly. Quite possibly. I was going to tell you when I came back home, but... when I saw you play with Satan-"
"Stop calling him Satan!" Tetsu yelled madly and turned to show Hyde his back.
"Uh... OK. Sorry... well, when I saw you play with the flea-bag... uh... puppy... I realized just... just how happy you were with it... and it broke my heart... so... I made up the sketching thing to buy me time... and think of something else... but I can't think of anything."
"Usotsuki... you just don't change."
"I'm sorry. I hadn't realized of how important the dog was to you... until I saw you play with it..." Hyde mumbled uncomfortably.
"I hope you are happy now." Tetsu snapped.
"Uh... I'm not happy..." Hyde replied softly.
"When are they coming?"
"Tomorrow. Tomorrow at around lunch time."
"Good. Get lost now. I have less than 24 hours of joy."
"Wakatta. Gomen ne, Tet-chan..."
"Get lost." Tetsu said trying to hide his tears from Hyde, but his voice cracked giving him away.
"Tet-chan..." Hyde sighed and turned back to walk heavily towards the bungalow.

"No! Tet-chan! Don't do it!! There are other dogs!! I'll buy you the city pound if you want!!"
"Leave me alone! You, Cruella DeVille!"
"No, Tet-chan, please don't jump!!"
"Goodbye, Haido... Goodbye world..." Tetsu jumped from the rooftop. Hyde ran towards him managing to grab one of his shoes, and watching his lover fall into the emptiness below.
"Oh! No!!! Tet-chan!!! Tet-chan!!!" Hyde screamed holding a tall platform shoe in his hands and cuddling it.

"Kuso! That won't happen! He wouldn't go that far..." Hyde shook his head.
